MACHU PICCHU AND LAKE TITICACA TOUR 3 DAYS ITINERARY

Day 1: Machu Picchu Day Trip 

The Machu Picchu Private Tour begins in Cusco at 5:00 am and return around 9:00 pm. For this trip to Machu Picchu our representative and car collects you from the hotel, you will then take a 2-hour journey to Ollantaytambo station. Once there, you will board the train to Aguas Calientes town, the base village for Machu Picchu, arriving about 10:30 am. Here our professional tour guide will meet you and accompany you on the 25-minute bus ride up to the Inca City.

Once at the gate, take a three-hour private guided tour of Machu Picchu, where you will learn about the history of the Incas. During our private tours to Machu Picchu, you will also visit the most important areas of the ancient city. By instance, the Guard House, Sun Temple, Royalty area, Main Plaza, Three Windows Temple, Sacred Sun Dial, and other attractions. Additionally, all areas are connected by narrow paths and steps, so be prepared for a bit of walking.

Our Private Tour to Machu Picchu offer plenty of time to fully experience the Inca citadel with your expert tour guide. At the end, you will take the bus to Aguas Calientes and return by Vistadome train to Ollantaytambo station.

Day 2: Rainbow Mountain Tour

The Rainbow Mountain Trip begins with a pick up at 5:00 am from your hotel in Cusco. Then, we will take a 2-hour drive in our private vehicle, heading to the south valley of Cusco. Enjoy your breakfast at the village of Cusipata. This also gives you a chance to use the bathroom and stretch your legs after two-hour journey. Eat as much as you can because you still have an hour to go and digest.

Our tour to Vinicunca continues in our transport for one more hour and reach the trailhead of phulawasipata. Here, begin your hike enjoying a typical Andean scenery with herds of alpacas and llamas. Views of Ausangate Mountain will grace us as we trek through villages and interact with locals. You’ll also see many red-colored mountains and green valleys which are the main highlights of this adventure.

We summit the Rainbow Mountain after a total hike of approximately 2 hours. we’ll reach our destination at an elevation of 5 036 mt/16,500 ft. From the lookout point enjoy the natural and fantastic vibrant colors. You also have plenty of time to explore, take pictures and take it all in. We’ll stay for 20 minutes at the summit and another in the lower area. We’ll descend for one hour the same way back to the start point. Our private transportation takes us for another one hour to our lunch spot.

From here, we will take a 5-hour journey to Puno and Lake Titicaca. We will travel through the highland landscapes, passing various Andean villages and towns. Our arrival to Puno will be around 9:00 pm, and we’ll drop you off at your hotel.

Day 3: Lake Titicaca Tour

The Lake Titicaca Tour from Puno begins at 6:30 am with a transfer from your hotel to the port of lake. Then, we will continue by motorized boat to the famous floating island of Uros. Once there, we will walk on the spongy reed islands, visiting the homes of native Uros inhabitants. This tribe is credited to be the direct descendants of one of the oldest South American Civilizations.

Here your expert guide for Lake Titicaca Tour will give you an explanation about how the Uros people build their home islands. You will also learn how they forge a subsistent lifestyle floating in the middle of Titicaca Lake. And for an intimate experience, you can also ride on traditional reed boats and visit other Uros floating islands.

After that, we will take a two-hour boat excursion to the Quechuan islands of Taquile. Once there, we will take a short hike following the stone pathway to reach the islands’ village. In the afternoon, we will descend 500 steps to the main port of the island and sail back to Puno. Our full-day Titicaca experience ends at 4:30 pm. with a transfer to your hotel in Puno.
