Day 1. – Cusco – Cachora – Chiquiska
The Choquequirao Trek in Peru 4 days will begin with a pick up from your hotel at about 5:00 am, and travel by bus for about 4 hours to the starting point of the trek Capuliyoc, where we will meet our horse and mule wranglers. They’ll load up the equipment and food and we’ll begin our trek.
Peru’s Choquequirao Trek goes in the mountainside, heading towards the Apurimac Canyon, a deep canyon carved by the river. The scenery is dramatic and you’ll see many unusual plants. Late in the afternoon, we’ll arrive at one of two possible campsites, Chiquiska or La Playa Rosa Linda.

Day 2. – Chiquiska – Marampata – Choquequirao
Today we wake up very early again to have a filling breakfast to start our Choquequirao trek to cross the Apurimac River. Following the river, we have a steep ascent through a thick cloud forest towards our destination for about 4 hours.
We will have a substantial lunch after this morning’s tough climb and then take a well-deserved rest. We’ll arrive at the archaeological site of Choquequirao. You’ll have free time to explore, look for native animals, maybe even see a soaring condor, and appreciate the panoramic views across the Apurimac River canyon. We’ll camp close to Choquequirao, the same as the Incas did in the past.

Day 3. – Choquequirao Trek Peru – Private Guided Tour – Playa Camp
After an early-morning breakfast, you’ll have about a 2-hour guided tour of Choquequirao. Our Choquequirao trek tour guide will explain about its history and function during the Inca culture. We’ll return by the same trail to our campsite at La Playa.

Day 4. – Playa – Cachora – Cusco
Enjoy the last breakfast and start hiking very early to avoid the hot sun during our steep ascent to Capuliyoq. From here, we’ll see the most spectacular Andean landscape and parts of the trail we hiked. In the end, a private vehicle will take us back to Cusco. We will arrive around 8:00 pm to Cusco and drop you off at the hotel.
