Choquequirao Trek in Peru

THE 4-DAY CHOQUEQUIRAO TREK IN PERU

The 4-day Choquequirao Trek in Peru could be a difficult hike but well worth a visit. Choquequirao is the hidden gem and the refuge of the last incas. This fascinating adventure is perfect for those looking to avoid the crowds and have all for themselves. Trekkers rarely see other groups on the way or camping at the same spot, therefore nice and quite while walking. The scenic route also shows deep canyons, remote villages and incredible Andean sceneries.

Choquequirao Trek 4 days is the newest off the beaten path travel destination in Peru. This 4-day trek is considered the most difficult adventure tour in the region of Cusco. However, our all-inclusive service makes a lot of easier your experience to reach the least explored Inca site. Trekkers are dropped off at the trail-head of Capuliyoq which offer amazing vistas as adventurous descend into the Apurimac Canyon. The next day is all uphill to the second most famous and largest inca site after Machu Picchu.

Choquequirao means “craddle of gold” and was also the last refuge for the Incas for 36 years during the colonial period. The Inca city of Choquequirao was completely abandoned eversince. Choquequirao is an excellent example of a ceremonial center for the Inca elite, dedicated to worshipping the gods of nature. Explore Choquequirao along with our expert tour guides and learn the history behind each group.

THE BEST 4-DAY CHOQUEQUIRAO TREK IN PERU

The religious center of Choquequirao is only comparable to Machu Picchu, considering its complexity, the craftsmanship of its stone walls and stunning views. Choquequirao is also known as “the sacred sister” of the lost city of the incas.

Choquequirao Trek let you visit a real marvel of the Inca Culture in 4 days from Cusco. This spectacular place is located in the Vilcabamba Valley, surrounded by imposing snow mountains and flanked by deep canyons with lush dense vegetation.

In addition, the Choquequirao Trek 4 days is very challenging because of its steep ascents and descents. But well worth the effort for its panoramic views and ancient Inca ruins. There are also fewer amenities and crowds, which is a prime motivation for many serious hikers who want to enjoy a more unspoiled experience.

If you already visited Machu Picchu, now there is another excuse to visit the incomparable Choquequirao. Similarly, there is another hot destination called Rainbow Mountain, which you can visit on a day trip from Cusco.

Best Memorable Trip Ever!! Our experience with Mapi Tour Peru was terrific, incredible and first rate. We worked with David to set up the tours and hikes of Sacred Valley, Pisaq, Machu Picchu, Huayna Picchu, other Inca sites near Cusco, Rainbow Mountain and Lake Titicaca. Every part of our tour was well thought out and memorable from cocktails at the San Cristobal Church belltower our first evening to lunch at the Hacienda Huayocari to the private home tour in Ollantaytambo and boat tour to the Uros and Taquile islands. We visited Peru during the Winter Solstice which is a very special time of year with many celebrations and much dancing in the streets. The accommodations chosen for us were first rate. We especially loved the Casa Andina in Cusco. Our tour guide, Catalina was a gem. She was my inspiration to keep hiking up the tall and narrow mountains and was so knowledgeable of the history of where we visited. I can't give enough great affirmations for this company. They were great to work with. Written July 18, 2023

Perfect Trip to Cusco & Machu Picchu! We had a fantastic experience using Mapi Tour. I reached out to a number of tour guides to help me plan my 1 week vacation to Lima/Cusco/Machu Picchu. I number of them where located in the United States so they seemed more like middlemen, but after interacting with David I felt the most comfortable working with him as a local tour operator with years of experience leading tours in Cusco and Machu Picchu. My wife and I did a tour of Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu and added Rainbow mountain whilst we were in Cusco. David and his team - Karen, Freddy, and Eloy were very professional, friendly and supportive to our needs in making sure we were worry-free about our tours. I truly recommend using local tour guides and David if you are planning a trip to Peru. Written August 15, 2023
