Cusco - Sacred Valley - Huchuy Qosqo - Machu Picchu Huchuy Qosqo Trek 2 days takes you through the other Inca Trail to Huchuy Qosqo ruins, and then to Machu Picchu by train. This is a none popular 2-day-hike but one of the many ways to connect the wonder of the world. In fact, this is a less traveled route built by the Incas that used to link Cusco and this famous Inca village. However, the ancient buildings have remained isolated for years due to little access to the site and even until this days.
The Huchuy Qosqo Trek 2 Days to Machu Picchu allows you to enjoy nature, culture and archaeology. The scenic hike to Huchuy Qosqo also offers a peaceful atmosphere as you walk across the Andes Mountains. Additionally, the ancient trail offers a moderate and gentle difficulty with maximum altitude of 4,050 m. There are several routes to visit the Huchuy Qosqo ruins, but the one you take with us is entirely unique and original. The Huchuy Qosqo Trail is part of the Inca road network and has remained undiscovered to this very day. In other words, we are pioneers hiking and taking trekkers along this ancient pathway to Huchuy Qosqo Inca site. This tour begins at the andean town of Qenko and takes to the less explored Inca site, continues to Lamay in the sacred valley and eventually connects the Inca city of Machu Picchu.

Day 1. – Cusco— Patabamba — Huchuy Qosqo – Aguas Calientes
The 2-day Huchuy Qosqo Trek to Machu Picchu begins with a pick up from your hotel at 7:00 am. Our private van takes you to the Community of Quenqo at 3 886 m/ 12 746 ft. in Patabamba (A small community located above the Sacred Valley of the Incas).
Once at the trailhead, we begin hiking up towards the pass (4066 m / 13336 ft) following an ancient Inca Trail used by ancient people to connect Huchuy Qosqo and the Sacred Valley. As you walk you will have magnificent views of the Urubamba mountain chain and the sacred Valley.
On the way, we will stop in Pumamarca a small community with thatched-roof homes to enjoy our Lunch box. Then, we will continue hiking down through the Leon Punku ravine, where a series of Inca steps will lead us down into the fabulous city of Huchuy Qosqo (3,670m/10,500ft).
Once there, you will have the opportunity to explore this unique Inca site, which was an important administrative, agricultural, and religious center displaying fine stone and mud brick architecture structures.
Then, we will walk downhill for about two hours in a zigzagging and almost vertical trail with incredible views of the mountains and wide valleys. Our private transportation will wait for us to take us to Ollantaytambo train station. From here we take the train to Aguas Calientes and spend the night in a comfortable hotel.

Day 2.- Machu Picchu Private Guided Tour – Cusco
Today you’ll finally visit Machu Picchu! To maximize your experience, we’ll have a very early breakfast to catch one of the first buses up to the citadel. Your hotel will store your backpacks until you return from your tour. The bus takes about 30 minutes to arrive at the monument. Your guide will immediately take you to a beautiful spot to watch the sunrise and take pictures. You’ll have about a 2-hour and a-half-guided tour where you’ll visit the most important groups of the monument and learn about Inca culture and history. Then you will take the bus down to Aguas Calientes (25 minutes) where you will have your lunch.
Later, you will take the return train to Ollantaytambo station. The train ride to Ollantaytambo takes about 2 hours. Our representative will meet you at the train station and take you in our private vehicle back to your hotel in Cusco.

We had an incredible experience with Mapi Tour, who arranged a fantastic week-long adventure for my husband and me—from the Amazon to Cusco and Machu Picchu. Every detail was handled seamlessly, and all our accommodations were excellent. Since this was a special occasion trip, Mapi ensured the hotels were aware, and each one added a thoughtful touch to make our stay even more memorable.
The absolute highlight of our journey was our guide, Karen, who accompanied us from Cusco to Machu Picchu. Her passion for her country and heritage shined through in every moment. She was knowledgeable, kind, and went out of her way to take special care of us.
We loved that we were booking with a local Cusco-based company, and our itinerary truly reflected that. From boating down the Amazon and walking across treetop footbridges among the monkeys to exploring Cusco and nearby mountain towns for an authentic glimpse into local life and culture, every experience was unforgettable. Taking the Hiram Bingham train to Machu Picchu was an absolute blast and a perfect way to round out our trip.

Awesome Tour Package for Machu Picchu!
This was our first time to Machu Picchu and I was nervous about all of the logistics. We were traveling with a family of 11 with two small children. I booked a hotel in Cusco. I contacted Mapi tours a while back and they offered a great itinerary at a reasonable price. I’m so glad I went with them. They took care of everything from booking the train, to booking the shuttle bus, to booking the admission tickets to Machu Picchu. They were quick to respond via WhatsApp.
David was our guide and picked us up in a private shuttle early morning at around 5 AM. The drive to the train station was a rough 2 Hour Dr. One of our passengers got altitude sickness, and they had solution and remedies to help. David was very knowledgeable. And guide us through the crazy train station traffic. We were there right in time for the train. He even advised us on the bathroom situation (which was helpful). He was with us the whole day. They even included another guy to join us at Machu Picchu since we had small Children. It was helpful because 3/4 of the way through, the little children’s decided to go back so the second tour guide walk them back.
They even made a recommendation and negotiated a great price for lunch buffet at Aqua Caliente. They recommended circuit two for the tour, which was perfect. They booked the tickets well in advance so we got a great entry time at 10 AM. We completed the circuit with plenty of pictures in three hours. We went straight to the lunch buffet and it was fantastic.
We made the train back and arrive back at our hotel at approximately 8:40 PM. All in all, it was a fantastic day for us. David and Liz made the tour wonderful. I would highly recommend going with Mapi Tours. You don’t have to worry about anything.
