Machu Picchu Hiking Package
Day 1.- Cusco Walking Tour
Our agents meet you at the airport and escort you, in private transport, to your upscale hotel to relax and acclimate to Cusco’s high altitude. Around noon, start a walking tour (at your own speed) of downtown Cusco. Walk through streets with Incan and colonial influences to sense earlier times. Begin at the holy Qoricancha Temple, which was originally covered with gold siding inside and out.
Hike to Sacsuayhuaman with its monolithic stones, structural symbolism, and its great view over downtown Cusco. Visit the Cathedral, which has over 300 paintings the Cusqueña School of Art. Investigate and experience San Pedro Market with all your senses. Church. End your first day with a relaxing dinner at your posh hotel or dine at one of Cusco’s many extraordinary restaurants.
Day 2.- Huchuy Qosqo Trek
The Huchuy Qosqo Trek to Machu Picchu is ideal for those trekkers who want to hike across the Andes Mountains with very few people en route. The Huchuy Qosqo Trek is an with great Andean sceneries and Inca sites.
Huchuy Qosqo is situated in the mountains overlooking the spectacular Sacred Valley of the Incas and many quaint villages. This Huchuy Qosqo trek is perfect for those who want to enjoy, Inca trails, Inca ruins and Snow Mountains. You will experience a home stay very close to site. The next day, you get to visit the Inca remains and descend down to sacred valley. You will stay the night in a hotel in Ollantaytambo.
Day 3.- Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu
From Ollantaytambo, you’ll take the train and get off at Kilometer 104 to begin our trek on the Inca Trail. Not long after, we arrive at the Chachabamba archaeological site.
We’ll ascend for about 4 hours until we reach the impressive archaeological complex Wiñaywayna at an altitude of 2700 meters (almost 6900 feet). We’ll have a lunch break, and continue our ascent until we reach the Sun Gate (Inti Punku). At the Sun Gate, you’ll experience your first spectacular view of Machu Picchu. After this wonderful experience, we’ll hike down to the bus that takes us to Aguas Calientes, the base village of Machu Picchu. We’ll spend the night in a hotel at Aguas Calientes.
Day 4.- Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Cusco
The next morning after breakfast, we’ll return by bus to Machu Picchu for your 2-hour guided tour. You’ll visit the most important areas of Machu Picchu: the Guard House, the Sun Temple, the royalty area, the Main Plaza, the Three Windows Temple, the Sacred Sun Dial and other attractions.
At the end of the Short Inca Trail Trek to Machu Picchu 2 days, you’ll have time to fully explore the citadel. Your guide will tell you when it’s time to descend from the monument to eat lunch in Aguas Calientes. In the afternoon, you’ll board the train to return to the Ollantaytambo station, and then bus to Cusco.
Day 5.- Cusco Inca Sites Tour with Picnic Lunch
Immerse yourself in the fascinating city of Cusco, visiting the most recommended and culturally significant destinations, such as Sacsayhuaman, qenko, Puca Pucara and tambomachay
These four archaeological sites are located above Cusco city. Additionally,you will have the opportunity to do a little hike and souvenir shopping. Experience the highlights of Cusco in a day private tour.
Day 6.- Hike the Rainbow Mountain
Visit the Rainbow Mountain in a challenging day hike. You’ll see quaint villages, beautiful adobe houses, herds of llamas and alpacas, plus magnificent views of the Ausangate glacier (6385m/21,000ft.), the highest mountain in the Cusco region. With its unsurpassed beauty and power, this is an excellent trip for trekkers who love a true outdoor adventure.
