The Cusco Half Day City Tour begins when we pick you up from your Cusco hotel at 1:00 pm. We will head towards the nearest spectacular Inca sites in our private vehicle. This private tour includes Inca sites in the city of Cusco and a little outside of it. Our Cusco City Tour itinerary will include the ruins of Sacsayhuaman, Q’enqo, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay. We will visit five Inca sites of Cusco over this five-hour morning or afternoon tour.
We begin with one of the most important temples, Qoricancha, which means “gold enclosure”. That’s because the Incas originally covered its stone walls with solid sheets of gold. They dedicated the Qoricancha temple to the worship of the Sun god, one of the primary deities of Inca cosmology.
Then we’ll travel up the hill to Sacsayhuaman (“Satisfied Falcon”), one of the most astonishing monuments built by the Incas. The site is a brilliant architectural feat even now after the Spanish significantly dismantled it to build colonial Cusco. You can still imagine its full glory from the grandeur of its walls, with large stone of over 120 tons.
Next, we’ll visit the Inca complex of Qenqo (“Zigzag”) which displays many symbolic carvings of Inca gods and animals. Nowadays, Cusco City Tour doesn’t allow travelers to see the puma, condor and snakes sculpted on the rock. However, inside the rock there are several caves and passageways to explore. There is also an altar which was used for mummification process and llamas sacrifices.
Then comes Puca Pucara (Fortress), a small site used as a control point and resting place for important Inca people.

We had an incredible experience with Mapi Tour, who arranged a fantastic week-long adventure for my husband and me—from the Amazon to Cusco and Machu Picchu. Awesome Tour Package for Machu Picchu!
This was our first time to Machu Picchu and I was nervous about all of the logistics. We were traveling with a family of 11 with two small children. I booked a hotel in Cusco. I contacted Mapi tours a while back and they offered a great itinerary at a reasonable price. I’m so glad I went with them. They took care of everything from booking the train, to booking the shuttle bus, to booking the admission tickets to Machu Picchu. They were quick to respond via WhatsApp.
David was our guide and picked us up in a private shuttle early morning at around 5 AM. The drive to the train station was a rough 2 Hour Dr. One of our passengers got altitude sickness, and they had solution and remedies to help. David was very knowledgeable. And guide us through the crazy train station traffic. We were there right in time for the train. He even advised us on the bathroom situation (which was helpful). He was with us the whole day. They even included another guy to join us at Machu Picchu since we had small Children. It was helpful because 3/4 of the way through, the little children’s decided to go back so the second tour guide walk them back.
They even made a recommendation and negotiated a great price for lunch buffet at Aqua Caliente. They recommended circuit two for the tour, which was perfect. They booked the tickets well in advance so we got a great entry time at 10 AM. We completed the circuit with plenty of pictures in three hours. We went straight to the lunch buffet and it was fantastic.
We made the train back and arrive back at our hotel at approximately 8:40 PM. All in all, it was a fantastic day for us. David and Liz made the tour wonderful. I would highly recommend going with Mapi Tours. You don’t have to worry about anything.
